July Stitch Fix! Fix #2 is a WINNER!

So, I was out sweating through Week 4 Day 2 of my Couch to 5k program and came home to my fix waiting at my door!!! What a reward for my hard work!

So, first impressions as I opened my box.
-Wow. My stylist NAILED it.
-LOVE the colors.
-Love the styles
-GOSH I hope everything fits because I want to keep it ALL!!!

So, you're anxious to see what I got, right!?! Prepare to fall in love like I did!

The FIRST thing I pulled out of my box was this Papermoon Ganesha Double Strap Top for $44.

Initial Thoughts - LOVE the colors. Love the detail of the straps and keyhole back. I really like tops that have some type of structural interest, so this top had exactly what I was looking for. The material is sheer-ish, but not enough to need a tank under. My next thought was....ugh...strapless bra required.

The SECOND piece I pulled out was this Pixley Turk Bow Back Top for $48.

Initial Thoughts - Again, I love the structural interest of this top. The fun bow in the back is right up my alley. It's navy blue, not black like the picture looks. It's a little plain on the front, but I knew I had some necklaces that would add a pop of color. The material again is a little sheer-ish, but there is another sheer plain navy layer under it so you don't have to layer up. Then again....strapless bra.....but, I did ask for my summery stuff, so tanks are acceptable. BONUS - this was pulled straight from my Stitch Fix Pin Board that I have attached to my Stitch Fix Profile, so my stylist IS paying attention.

The THIRD piece I pulled was this 41 Hawthorn Filbert Abstract Striped Henley Blouse for $58.

Initial Thoughts - Again, LOVE. Seriously love. The material is super luxurious feeling and the design, cut, color (navy), is exactly what i'm looking for. And bonus - no strapless bra required!!!

The FOURTH piece I pulled from my goody box was this pair of Dear John Marson Wide Leg Denim Trousers for $78.

Initial Thoughts - My stylist is LISTENING! No skinny jeans this time AND they aren't $168! I love the dark denim because it's a lot more forgiving on my curvy figure. The waist looks pretty small. Not 100% sure these are going to fit, but I hope they do!

The FIFTH piece was this Bancroft Sofia Hammered Square Collar Necklace for $32.

Initial Thoughts - maybe my stylist ISN'T listening. I sent back the last necklace because it was silver and just didn't do enough for me. If i'm going to accessorize, I need color. So, I wasn't super thrilled with this, but I thought i'd try it with the tops before I made my final decision on it.

PUTTING IT ALL TOGETHER

The FIRST outfit I tried on was the Papermoon Ganesha Double Strap Top with the Dear John Marson Wide Leg Denim Trousers. I tried the necklace with this one and it just didn't work with the neckline.

Thoughts - The jeans FIT! And, they feel REALLY nice on. They are a high quality denim and have a lot of stretch for comfort. I move a lot, so that's important to me! I also loved the top on. It's super light and airy and just what I want for summer. It's a TINY bit too flowy around the mid-section and I wish it were a tiny bit more fitted there, but it's not enough to keep me from loving this top!

The SECOND outfit I tried on was the Pixley Turk Bow Back Top and the Dear John Jeans. Again, the necklace just didn't work, so I put on my own necklace and LOVE the pop of color it gives it.

Thoughts - Love this top. Maybe not with the jeans though. I just feel like the dark on dark doesn't work here. Some cute white capris would look adorable with this top. It's a super flattering fit and I love that the fun back shows off some of my newly acquired back and arm muscles from BodyPump!

The THIRD outfit I tried on was the 41Hawthorn Filbert Abstract Striped Henley Blouse and Dear John Jeans with the Bancroft Sofia Hammered Square Collar Necklace.

Thoughts - I. Love. This. Top. There is so much to love about it. The pattern is super cool and there are so many neat things about the structure of this shirt. The curved hem at the bottom makes it really flattering, and it's got a double hem that you can't really see and it makes it more interesting. The arms have a really cool V slit up the back with the same double hem as the bottom. Plus, the fit is PERFECT. Not too big, not too tight. And bonus - REALLY flattering. Pretty sure this is my favorite. It did look really nice with the necklace, but if I were wearing this out, i'd put on my orange necklace or something with more color.

THE VERDICT

Papermoon Ganesha Double Strap Top - While i'm not thrilled about the idea of a strapless bra, because let's face it...who really WANTS to wear a strapless bra, if you're going to wear a cute tank in the summer, it's a necessary evil. I think wearing a tank under this would take away from the interest of the double straps, so i'll suffer through it. Definitely a keeper!

Pixley Turk Bow Back Top - Again with the strapless bra, but I love the bow, the fit, the versatility. Again, a keeper!

41 Hawthorn Filbert Abstract Striped Henley Blouse - I don't even need to go into details here. KEEPING.

Dear John Marson Wide Leg Denim Trouser - I love how comfy these jeans are. My ONLY hesitation is with the pockets. They have that weird diagonal slit type pocket you find on khakis that prevents anyone with curves or an athletic figure from wearing them without the pocket bulging. These didn't bulge standing, but did sitting. But, I think I like everything else about them enough to keep them. Big bonus is that they're sending me jeans that are actually long enough. This NEVER happens for a tall girl!

Bancroft Sofia Hammered Square Collar Necklace - While I don't love this necklace, it's only $32. If I keep all 5 pieces from my Fix, I get a 25% discount which equates to $65. So, regardless if I never wear it, it makes sense to keep it. I'm going to put a note on my profile about the accessories being more fun and colorful. Knowing that my stylist is paying attention, i'm hoping Fix #3 has something I like more!

FINAL THOUGHTS

I'm SO happy with my Fix this month. My stylist nailed it and i'm really excited to take advantage of the 5 piece 25% discount. Normally, all of the items would have been $260 which I feel like is reasonable for 5 high quality pieces. Because i'm keeping all 5, I get them for $175 with the refund of my $20 styling credit! I can only hope she's as successful with her selections next month! I LOVE the anticipation of waiting for my next Fix and I love that i'm infusing my wardrobe with some fun styles that I probably would have never picked for myself.
